15th Anniversary November Feature: Stephanie Malkus

Tier One PR, Social, and Content 15th Anniversary - Stephanie Malkus

Tier One is thrilled, humbled, and grateful to be in our 15th year as a full-service PR, social, and content agency. We see this moment-in-time as an opportunity to celebrate and recognize our fantastic team members and honoring them by supporting causes dear to them. On the 15th of each month (Feb.’18 - Dec.‘18) we will spotlight a team member and hope to raise a little extra awareness and support for their cause. Here’s to the next 15! #TOP15

Stephanie Malkus
Content Strategist

Stephanie has been a member of the Tier One Chicago team for more than six years, but...

She was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, a.k.a., the heart of Cardinal Nation. Since moving to Chicago, she has not — and will never — become a Cubs fan. The dedication and sense of community she learned both from the Cardinal fans and the city of St. Louis is something that has always motivated Stephanie.

Great storytelling also inspires Stephanie...

Which is why she is a fervent theatergoer. Stephanie not only loves seeing theater, she studied it in college along with communication. But do not ask her to pick a favorite show. (She will admit that the original casts of “Hamilton” on Broadway and “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” in London — impressively, she’s seen both! — are in her top 10).

You may not know Stephanie...

Swam competitively for more than ten years throughout middle school, high school, and college. Stephanie is now an avid runner and has completed more than ten half-marathons.

In December, she’ll be running her second St. Jude Half-Marathon in Memphis, Tennessee, and will be running as a St. Jude Hero to help raise funds for this remarkable organization.

Since 2014…

Stephanie has attended Marathon Weekend in Memphis three times, but her mother has been running for St. Jude since 2004. Hitting the pavement for an organization that is not only advancing childhood cancer treatment, but also caring for the families of children currently receiving treatment makes it more than a race weekend, “It’s an experience that’s hard to put into words,” says Stephanie. “I always leave Memphis feeling like I’ve been given this incredible gift.”

St. Jude also happens to be an organization near and dear to the entire Tier One team, which you can learn more about in Kathy Wilson’s March feature.

Tier One’s Culture of Giving...

Is a point of Tier One team pride for Stephanie. The agency’s commitment not only to its own team and clients, but to the larger community is something Stephanie sees as absolutely extraordinary. “The Tier One culture, particularly its emphasis on giving, is something I’ve always taken pride in.”
