Whenever a new technology enters our collective conscience many unrelated businesses try to align themselves with it in an effort to demonstrate they are cutting edge. Sometimes this works...and sometimes it doesn’t. For PR professionals this presents a challenge, aka an incredible opportunity to help clients define this up and coming technology. Clearly communicating the potential of this space will be crucial as it makes its way into more and more sectors.

Clean energy industries employ more than 3 million U.S. workers in well-paying middle-class jobs. This data comes from the Department of Energy’s annual U.S. Energy and Employment report and is the focus of a social media campaign (February 22) designed to focus national attention on this U.S. jobs success story. Facebook-owned Instagram Stories boast a slew of features that match those of Snapchat and several that its competitor doesn’t have. And while the platform and its capabilities can be incredibly appealing, we also understand how overwhelming it can be to see so many brands already taking full advantage of the platform.

As of Friday, November 4th, the Paris Agreement (from COP21) entered into force with 97 out of 197 nations officially signed on. As you may know, the Paris Agreement is an unprecedented show of global unity in fighting climate change. In essence, the agreement is a collection of self-imposed national commitments to keep global temperature rise this sec century to well below 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) above pre-industrial levels. The Paris agreement is not a solution, but it is a start.

Internet trends come and go, but much like the wind, their power can be a force to be reckoned with. If you’ve been anywhere near a computer or TV in recent days, you’ve seen that Pokémon Go has joined the viral ranks, a social seat of power previously held by the likes of the Ice Bucket Challenge, the Dress (the black/blue vs white/gold battle that divided friends and family around the world), and Left Shark. And as was the case with these vastly viral moments, brands and publishers alike are again rushing to their computers to create content, any content, to take advantage of this Poké-moment. As much as we understand the temptation to ride the viral wave, it’s sometimes easy to get swept away by the tide. Here’s our PR Pokédex of tips to master these moments:
